Hundreds of
clients. Hundreds or thousands
of project profiles. Dozens of
service and expense codes.
Thousands of time entries.
Sometimes you
need to update a lot of records
at one time. What could be tedious and time-consuming
administrative work is quick and
easy in BillQuick. Those are overused words
to be sure, but they are
accurate and true with
BillQuick.
To move on sooner
to more productive (and maybe,
billable) tasks, use BillQuick's
Change and QuickUpdate features.
With them you can batch update a
few or a few thousand records at
one time.
Batch Change
Batch Change is
available for:

Take Project
Change as an example. To select
the projects to update,
highlight them in the drop-down
list. You can select any number
of specific projects (as shown).
Alternatively, if you previously
defined a group of projects
that you want to
update, such as (1040 Tax or
South City Projects), select the
group from the Group
drop-down list.
Once projects are
selected, add new values to any
of the 34 fields. When you click
Apply, BillQuick batch updates
the fields in the selected
project profiles. Even when
project profiles require
different values for different
fields, running Project Change
multiple times is faster than
updating profiles individually.

Another common
example is Time Entry Change. In this case, you first
highlight the entries to change
in the Sheet View grid, then click
the Change button. For example, you may
need to update the bill rate for
entries because the new rate was
added after some entries
were recorded. Add the updated
bill rate (as shown) and click OK.
The entries are batch updated.
QuickUpdate

When many time
entries need to be updated OR
you want to apply the correct
bill and cost rates from the
latest updated employee profiles
or service fee schedules, use
QuickUpdate.
To identify the
entries to update, select one or
multiple filters. You can filter
time entries by the old bill
rate and cost rate if you want.
To update, enter new rates OR as shown,
check the boxes and BillQuick
will follow internal rules and
select the correct from the
service fee schedule assigned to
the project or from the employee's
profile.
What could have
been an hour or more of
administrative work becomes a few minutes. |
