BillQuick 2006 Unveiled!

You’ve waited long enough and you will soon find out why it was worth the wait. Thanks to all of your valuable suggestions we have made BillQuick 2006 the most powerful Time Billing and Project Management software available.

So you may be asking, what’s all the buzz about? Take a look and find out for yourself.

BillQuick 2006 has over 120 new features and many "under-the-hood" improvements. In addition to the standard database engine, BillQuick 2006 also supports Microsoft SQL Desktop Engine (Microsoft SQL 2005 Express), and Microsoft SQL 2005 and 2000. BillQuick Enterprise and BillQuick Pro now support Integrated Windows Authentication.

The reports team has added over 100 new reports and Invoice templates. BillQuick 2006 now includes over 350 reports and over 90 invoices templates.

To experience the true power of BillQuick 2006, we recommend that you download a trial copy and give it a test drive. BillQuick 2006 works concurrently with previous versions of BillQuick, so you can install it without having to uninstalling or overwriting your previous version of BillQuick.

New and improved User Interface features

Role-Based Navigators –

Company, Management, Time & Expense, and Billing

With active action buttons and data flows and focused, user-specific information, each of the 4 NEW Navigators make it easier for first-time and experienced users to work with BillQuick. Available navigators now include:

  • Company Navigator

  • Management Navigator

  • Time & Expense Navigator

  • Billing Navigator

Information includes charts showing (for example) month by month cash flow, billings, unbilled time, job costing, and important Top 10’s. Enhanced time and expense approval workflow let you know when entries await approval for billing.

Auto Complete for Memos

BillQuick 2006 has two really hot new features for billing. That's right, features to save you time and make billing easier. First, there's Auto-Complete. You can setup shorthand codes to expand into phrases, sentences, paragraphs, pages in any memo pad – invoice memos, time and expense memos, project notes, and more.

Write-Up/Down by Amount

Here's another winner -- Write-up or Down WIP by amount. In addition to the current Percentage Write-Up/Down feature, you can now write up/down work in progress by amount. And you can adjust the Net Bill Amount on Billing Review. In BillQuick 2006 it all flows to the employee and project write-up/down reports.  

Wait, There's More!

Invoice Wizard

BillQuick 2006 includes a new Invoice Wizard that steps you through the process. Along with the enhanced Phased Project Wizard, you can efficiently accomplish billing tasks immediately. With the wizard, you can create a draft or final invoice, and save or print the invoice immediately.

More Billing Information in One Place

Also new for billing, the Billing Review screen now includes the Bill Details screen. Double-click any row to display a complete summary for the billing record, including your billing decisions. View billing information before producing a draft or final invoice.

Agent Alert - New Level of Workflow Automation

Set-it-and-forget-it capabilities save time in companies of all sizes. Professional operations turn non-billable hours into billable hours. That's a whole lot better than a small operation – or a large one – being a fire brigade, putting out fires that seem to come out of nowhere despite management’s best efforts.

Agent now contains three workflow functions:

Management Workflow Automation

Agent Alert

New in 2006, Agent Alert monitors your company database for exceptions – changes or conditions you define. For example, you may set Agent Alert to monitor:

  • Project amount spent until it exceeds a threshold

  • Change in project status change

  • Project percent complete until it exceeds a threshold

  • Project budget until it exceeds a threshold

  • Work in progress greater than a set amount

  • Receivables greater than a set amount

  • For excessive work-in-hand inventory

  • For excessive non-billable hours

  • For time and expenses waiting approval

  • For past due payments

  • For unpaid invoices older than specified number of days

The list is endless. You decide what key elements Agent Alert should keep an eye on for you, and what constitutes an exception to inform you about. Agent can alert instantly you by On-Screen Message or send you an email. This is the workflow automation typically found in accounting packages costing $25,000 and higher.

Administrative Workflow Automation

Agent Alert

Enhanced in 2006, the Startup Interview Wizard steps you through setup, helping you make decisions about how you want Agent Time Card to monitor company timekeeping policy for exceptions. You control the parameters, defining workdays, hours in a full workday, frequency of monitoring, and more. When Agent identifies delinquent timekeepers, a click sends an email reminder. You can also view sick hours, vacation days, and so on.

Report Workflow Automation

Schedule any BillQuick report (or any report created with Crystal Reports) to be produced on any frequency – daily, certain day of the week or month, etc., then have it printed automatically. Or for much more flexibility, have the report automatically sent as a PDF attachment to one or many email addresses. Truly, workflow automation at its best --- set it, forget it, and let the information flow to you when you want it.

Agent’s workflow automation capabilities deliver more time for clients and personal activities. Reported payback periods range from as little as one week (large firm) to about two months (2-person company).

Faxing information, re-entering information, delaying billing -- it takes time for the person who needs information, the person who has the information, and the person who duplicates the effort to record it.

Staff, managers and partners in the field need to stay productive. They drive revenues and profits for the firm. In addition to the details of projects, they need to keep clients happy and projects within budget. If you have Internet access but do not allow BillQuick to automatically download updates (you turned off AutoUpdate in the Other 2 tab on the Preferences screen), go to the File menu and select Get Updates. When you exit BillQuick, the update automatically installs.

If desired, you can download the latest BillQuick 2004 update from the BillQuick web site. Click Save when prompted. Next, run the setup program from the folder in which it was saved.
