Managing Your Receivables in
2008
Slow receivables reduce profits,
reduce desirable capital
expenditures and resource
improvements, and increases the costs of
doing business. Research
from the U.S. Department of
Commerce shows that
after 90 days, 26% of accounts
can be uncollectible. When you
take this a step further, the
collectability risk also rises with the age of your
unbilled work in progress.
Analysts point to the
"likelihood of slightly slower
economic activity for the coming
months" (talk to ten economists,
you will get 12 answers).
Whether they are right, wrong or
just covering their bets, it is
prudent to hedge your
bets by more closely managing
your receivables.

Credit Card Processing in
BillQuick |
|
Research
shows clients of architectural,
engineering, accounting, law and
other professional firms
consistently use credit cards to
pay bills. Some do it to get the
"points" and others do it
because it is convenient. It's
convenient for your company too.
The
fee charged is usually offset --
and more -- by reduction in your
company's receivables carrying
costs.
Offering
a credit card payment option
also sends a strong signal:
Our company is not your banker.
And as part of a prudent
receivables management plan,
asking for payment by credit
card for past due amounts
offers an easy option for
companies.
BillQuick
includes credit card processing
directly in the software.
