Throughout this series, the key goal was to show ways to reduce non-billable, administrative time and shift it to billable and productive time. Every company needs to leverage available hours in today’s economic climate. And the new habits fostering higher productivity will give you a competitive advantage when the economic up cycle returns.
In this final post in the series, we look at report customization as part of process optimization and overhead elimination.
Report Customization in BillQuick
New in 2009, you now have more built-in control over your reports.
You can customize the font, size and color of text on reports. Also, you can change the sort order of data in reports (where applicable). In short, you adapt reports to the primary user of the information. These settings can be one-time or you can save them as report defaults. The end result is reports are more efficient to scan and review.
For advanced users, the new built-in report customization allows you to control items to match what a manager needs or prefers. For example, you can control aspects of the report format. You can suppress data, size and position items, control the size, alignment and tool tip format, specify item visibility, set borders, add drop shadows and tighten horizontal information.
Another aspect of customization is exporting. You can publish information on an intranet using the HTML, XML or PDF formats. You can export data to Excel for special analyses. Or you might save reports (including invoices and statements) in Microsoft Word format. You can also save the data in a format for importing into a database or another application. The exported file can be saved in any folder you choose.
