Where am I going now?
How am I getting there?
Where am I staying when I get there?
What’s my name again?
Have you been traveling a lot, binky? Is one airport’s carpet/restaurant/gate seating arrangement/passenger-waiting-next-to-you looking like the one you were in yesterday (or was that last week?)?
Well, before you venture out again on the next trip, get a grip on your traveling life. Here are a few suggestions:
Trip Case – Keep track of flight departure and arrival status, security wait times, baggage claim location and gate changes. Access your itinerary, including car rental information (pickup, drop off, location), hotel information (description, telephone number and photos), and confirmation number and notes.
Trip It – Similar to Trip Case. Check out TripIt Pro. It offers mobile travel alerts, alternate flight suggestions, frequent flyer point tracking and more.
FlightView – You don’t want to play Dominos with your travel plans. Real-time flight information is always good to have. FligthView tracks upcoming and in-air flights, and checks the general delay status at major airports in North America. Also, you can enter user notes for your car reservation and other information for your trip. The app integrates with your BlackBerry® calendar, putting information and notes into your daily agenda.
FlightCaster – It is frustrating and stressful to sit in an airport – delayed again – when you could have had a few more hours with your kids or wife (or yeah, working at the office). With FlightCaster you will know about delays even before the airline notifies you. FlightCaster predicts probable delays based on weather, congestion, FAA flight alerts and historical averages. All that data runs through their proprietary algorithm.
SitorSquat – Now this is the critical traveler’s app! SitOrSquat finds you the nearest bathroom using its Virtual GPS system. This app must have been created by a frequent traveler.
