If you do a google search for Billing apps, you will find a very wide range of apps. Some have things in common, while others are completely different from one another. Many people ask us what the difference is between BillQuick, and Bill.com. The short answer is, just about everything, with a small amount of overlap.
Both products can let you enter and pay bills, and both products sync to QuickBooks. Right about there is where these two products deviate. Bill.com lets you pay your bills online, or from the mobile app, and those payments will sync to QuickBooks, so that no additional data entry is required. BillQuick does not let you schedule payments. You can enter a bill, and that will sync to QuickBooks, but then you have to schedule the payment through your bank, or write a check, and mail it.
BillQuick will allow you to track time, and expenses, and compare that to a budget, as well as manage the entire project from within BillQuick. You can review your time and expenses, and bill that back to your clients. Bill.com does none of these things.
Bill.com is simply an accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash management app. BillQuick is time and expense billing, and project management.
Here’s a thought! How you can use both BillQuick Online, and Bill.com, in tandem with QuickBooks Online.
This also underscores the extreme benefits of being in the cloud, because you could never accomplish what I am about to describe, using desktop software.
You use BillQuick Online to capture your time and expenses. Then you review, and approve the time and expenses to be paid. Once a bill is created, it is synced to QuickBooks Online.
QuickBooks Online can be connected to Bill.com, and since you are using all cloud software, the bills will sync from QuickBooks Online to Bill.com.
Now you, or your client, and schedule payments from Bill.com, and that will sync back to QuickBooks Online. Then that information will sync from QuickBooks Online to BillQuick Online.
In the end, nothing is entered more than once. Bill.com provides a great platform from which you can manage and schedule your A/P Payments (and your A/R). BillQuick Online (desktop too) can handle everything you need leading up to the point of paying the bills.
