If you are using BillQuick Online, and you are syncing to QuickBooks Online, then there are two areas of account assignments, that are important to know about.
You have your chart of accounts in BillQuick Online, and that may be synced to QuickBooks Online. Then you have activity codes and expense codes. Each item on these lists, needs to be mapped to an account, in two places: one in BillQuick Online and the other in QuickBooks Online.
You may be inclined to think that if these activity and expense codes are mapped to the accounts in BillQuick Online, and the chart of accounts is synced, then it should be the same. And you may well want to do it that way, but it doesn’t do that automatically for you.
You need to sync your activity codes and your expense codes in two places. One is in the Lists area, where you map the items to the accounts in BillQuick Online. The other is in the QuickBooks Online area, in the Account Assignment settings.
If you sync your data and find strange accounts showing up in Your QuickBooks file, this is likely what the issue is. You probably didn’t map the Expense and Activity codes properly for QuickBooks Online.
Go through the mappings for each item, in both areas, and your financial statements should show everything exactly where you want it to be. If something isn’t showing up where you want it to, fix these settings in one or both areas, then re-sync, or re-run the reports you are looking at. This may be something you find you need to do, while you are auditing your Profit and Loss Statement in BillQuick Online.
